Faux Snakeskin Boots - Where to Find!

I am absolutely in love with a pair of snakeskin boots I purchased at the end of January. I was walking around the Marks and Spencer's nearest my work office during my lunch hour as I had time to kill, and I spotted the word clearance - and off I went!

Marks and Spencer's to my Mum is like Mecca. It is always the way she ends up gravitating towards. So over the years and all through my childhood, I have spent many hours and many pounds in there, and as time has gone on, I have witnessed the collections in store growing more modern and appealing for younger people.

The clothes in there are such high quality, and last for years, so even if you end up spending a few more pounds on items, you know it will be worth it in the long run, as they will last you a lot longer than garments you may purchase from other 'throw away fashion' high street stores.

As I approached the clearance section, I spotted the most striking pair of white and grey faux snakeskin effect boots. I instantly fell in love. Gucci had snakeskin boots on their catwalk for Fall 2016, and I'd been itching to get my hands on some.

I've always been a sucker when it comes to shoes, and these boots were no exception. I checked the size and lo and behold, the last pair were my size! I took that as a sign.

I braced myself as I checked the price label (a pair of  boots like this would never be cheap!), only to see the yellow price sticker said... £10.99!!! They had been reduced from £60, and I was so pleased with myself that I went and purchased them immediately before anyone else with a size 3.5 foot could spot them and wrestle them from my death grip.

I posted picture of my new purchase on my blog instagram last week, and had quite a number of people comment on how striking and beautiful they were, and I felt bad that I couldn't refer them to a place they could purchase some, as they were sold out everywhere and I got the last pair!

However, yesterday whilst browsing my March 2016 copy of British Vogue, I spotted a similar pair on a Russell and Bromley advert page. They call it 'The Network Ankle Boot' and have them on sale for £255, which is not exactly a purse friendly price for a lot of people, myself included!

As this is going to be such a big trend for the coming months I decided to see where else is stocking similar boots, for more reasonable prices! I found quite a few similar alternatives on offer from a number of stores, and here are just a few of my favourites.

River Island - Beige Snake Print Ankle Boots - £45

What I really like about these is the midi heel which makes them open to being dressed up or down, and looking fabulous whatever time of day or night. I especially love that the heel is a lovely wooden block heel, this is something I admire in ankle boots often as I feel it makes them look chic, but also keeps them a lot easier to walk in so are perfect for day wear.

Daisy Street - Snake Print Block Heeled Ankle Boots - £34.99

These are more similar to that of Gucci and Russell and Bromley, due to the snakeskin pattern continuing onto the heel. The snake skin pattern on these is a lot more blocky and clear, which is a nice change to some of the other similar boots, and the warm colour tones on these make them slightly less 'in your face' if you're conscious of wearing lightly coloured shoes, which tend to attract peoples eyes straight to your feet!

Each X Other (@ FarFetch) - £365 REDUCED TO: £182.50:

Now, whilst I realise these are still a little on the pricey side, I have to say I absolutely love them. The cut out side is something I am really enjoying about this pair and they are already half price! You can tell that they're of high quality and so although you'd have to pay up a bit more than you had originally planned, you know these are an investment piece that would last.

River Island - Beige Snake Print Heeled Knee High Boots - £75:

These are without a doubt, the sassiest pair in my line up. I know they're not going to be to everyone's taste, but they're growing on me more and more each time I see them and I think I may have to invest in a pair! I'm not one for knee high boots usually to be honest, but these are such a versatile pair, they would add a sassy edge to any outfit and would easily go from being a day item to a night item. Just pair with a sweater, jeans  and a mac during the day for fashion forward look, and throw on with a shift dress and bomber jacket during the evening for a stylish, edgy look for a night out. Love, love, LOVE.
